Urgent visas: what can be speeded up

Priority services, earlier appointments and e-visas: the honest options when you need a visa fast.

Sometimes travel can't wait: a family emergency, a business trip at short notice. Some visas can be hurried; others simply can't. Here's what's realistic.

Visas that are naturally quick

E-visas and electronic authorisations for countries such as Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Kenya and many others can come through in days. Visas on arrival need no advance application at all, if you're eligible.

Priority services

Some consulates offer priority or super-priority processing for an extra fee, including the UK. It shortens the decision time after biometrics, but you still need an appointment.

Earlier appointments

For Schengen and US visas, the appointment is the bottleneck. No one can buy an earlier slot, but slots do open up, and we watch for them.

Emergency appointments

Some consulates consider emergency requests for medical or compassionate reasons, with evidence. We help you prepare the request.

What won't speed things up

Incomplete documents. An urgent application with a missing paper takes longer, not shorter. The fastest route is a complete file on the first try.
