Umrah from the UAE: visa, timing and what a good package includes

Visa routes for UAE residents, the best months to go and how to choose a hotel near the Haram, from our Umrah team in Dubai.

Umrah from the UAE is easier than from almost anywhere: Jeddah and Madinah are short flights from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Here's what our Umrah team advises.

Visa

UAE residents of most nationalities can obtain a Saudi tourist or Umrah e-visa quickly, but requirements change, so we confirm the current route for your passport and residence visa before booking. You'll also book permits in the Nusuk app.

Timing

UAE Umrah searches peak from October to March and drop in April and May. Outside Ramadan and the Hajj weeks the Haram is quieter and hotels are considerably cheaper. Ramadan Umrah is deeply rewarding but must be booked months ahead.

Hotels

The biggest factor in comfort is distance from the Haram. We favour hotels within a ten-minute walk, particularly for families and elderly pilgrims.

By air, for comfort

Flying saves leave days and is far easier on elders. Our packages are by air, timed around your weekend or annual leave.

What's included

Visa, flights, hotels in Makkah and Madinah, inter-city transport, guidance and a 24/7 contact in Saudi Arabia.
